Privacy notice
Last updated: 18 April 2026
This notice explains what personal data we collect when you visit theservicebook.uk or join our early access waitlist, how we use it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law.
Who controls your data
The data controller is ServiceBook Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17111350). Registered office: 3rd Floor, 86-90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE. Contact: hello@theservicebook.uk.
What we collect
When you submit the early access signup form we collect your name, email, optional mobile number, town or city, role (client or contractor), and role-specific details (property type / trade and experience). When you visit the site we log IP address, user-agent, referrer and any UTM parameters for security and abuse prevention. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising pixels.
How we use it
To confirm your signup, to invite you to early access in the relevant wave, and to keep the site secure. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests under UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f). When the booking platform launches, processing your data to fulfil bookings will additionally rely on contractual necessity (Article 6(1)(b)).
Who we share it with
We use trusted processors to run the service: Neon (database), Vercel (site hosting), Railway (backend hosting), Resend (transactional email), and Stripe (payments, once the platform launches — Stripe is an independent controller for payment transaction data). Each is bound by a data-processing agreement and handles data only on our instructions. Some processors are based outside the UK; transfers are made under the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or UK-approved Standard Contractual Clauses.
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
Waitlist entries: up to 24 months from signup. Server logs: 90 days. Once the booking platform is live, booking and payment records are retained for at least 7 years for UK tax compliance, then reviewed for deletion or anonymisation.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or port your data; restrict or object to processing; and withdraw consent where we rely on it. We respond within one calendar month. Email hello@theservicebook.uk to exercise any right.
Complaints
Please contact us first if you have a concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Security
We apply industry-standard technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, access control, and routine patching. Payment card data is handled exclusively by Stripe and never touches our systems.
Children
ServiceBook is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.
